Missing literature

Help us to retrieve essential literature for the GHFDB

The assessment and update of the Global Heat Flow Database (GHFDB) requires access to the original scientific literature where historical heat flow measurements were first published. We have collected many of the original references (cf. Heat flow library). Without these references, many older datasets cannot be verified, re-calibrated, or updated to meet modern scientific standards.

We are actively searching for missing publications, technical reports, and datasets that are not yet accessible to the International Heat Flow Commission (IHFC). These documents are essential for ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with FAIR principles. Currently, around 150 original references are still missing (status: February 2025).

How You Can Help

  • Do you have access to any of the missing literature listed below?
  • Do you know where we can find a copy of these documents (e.g., archives, libraries, online repositories)?

If you can provide copies of publications or direct us to potential sources, please reach out to us at support@heatflow.world. Every contribution helps preserve valuable scientific data and enhances the quality of global heat flow research.

Check out the Google Sheets document of important missing references.
